THE RIGHT WAY TO ASK…getting answers to your prayers.
“What causes fight and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You want something but don’t get it. You kill and covet but you can’t have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you (finally) ask, you don’t receive because you ask with wrong motives (“amiss” that is, in an improper manner…KJV) that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. James 4: 1-3 NIV
Have you ever seen Mr. Bill gates, with shirt opened and shoes removed quarrelling/fighting on the street of New York? I bet you haven’t.
You might say Anuoluwapo how can you be so sure of that… I haven’t Mr. Bill in person. Okay, I agree with you on that, so let’s come home a little bit. Have you ever see Pastor E.A Adeboye, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Pastor Paul Adefarasin or Bishop David Oyedepo come down from their car, bear feet and with opened shirt about to beat up someone along the road? I am 100% sure you haven’t!
What am I driving at; you wouldn’t see these great men do such things simply because they are richly blessed. I dare to say that instead of fighting (probably because you hit their cars on the road), they will rather bless you with it as they live in sufficiency and can afford to buy new cars and all the good things of life- they have answers to their prayers.
On the other hand, just mistakenly hit a poor man’s car and you would have wished you never put your car on the road that day. He would fight you with all the poverty that he’s got!
The book of James chapter four verses one to three gives us the singular reason for the above reaction; a frustration of the soul due to unanswered prayers. The scripture says that, instead of asking God:
1. We fight, quarrel and covet other people’s wealth
2. We thought that we asked God(in prayer) but we never really did
3. And when we finally did, we prayed amiss (in an improper manner)
You must have seen folks who go around saying all manner of things about the blessed and wealthy? Such folks can’t be blessed and wealthy (it’s not a curse) except of course, they repent (have a change of mind) and ask of God, His blessing. Some even go around coveting and wishing that other people’s wealth would suddenly become theirs. Instead of asking God what they so desire, they say prayers like “Almighty God, the wealth of Aliko Dangote is mine…o my Father, Bill’s money mistaken enters in my account”, and all sort of useless prayers.
I bet you are wiser than that.
So, what’s wrong, why don’t we get answers to our prayers sometimes? It’s because we pray amiss. And don’t look at me that way; I wasn’t the one that said so…the scripture did (James4:3), I believe If we pray aright, we will always get answers.
What then, is the right way to ask?
Before we go into that, I would like to establish the fact that there are certain prayers God will never answer (except of course, you get it you own way) no matter how long or short you pray. For example, you can’t be praying for someone to die so you can go ahead and marry his wife/her husband as the case may be. God will never answer that kind of prayer! Why? Because it’s not in accordance with His Word, the Message bible puts it this way “….you’d be asking for what you have no right to…” It’s simply unscriptural my dear. Hence, for you to expect an answered prayer, your prayers must be in line with God’s will; which is His Word!
Okay, that noted. Besides asking in line with the Word, there is a right way/manner to ask in prayer. It’s called asking in FAITH AND WITH THANKSGIVING
…to be continued

Good evening great men and women, hope your day has been good and the “ffs2013’s Blog” has been a blessing to you?

A dear friend(Mr David,
i call him my computer guru-he is simply good at what he does) was reading the most recent post(THE KEY TO A SUCCESSFUL LIFE LONG MARRIAGE) and i was shocked when he brought my attention to some typo errors…in my mind i was like, gosh! I thought I read that twice. I had spelt some words wrongly…

Now you are wondering, why is Anuoluwapo sharing this with me( I didn’t even see his errors in the first place)?

Well, I believe that you deserve the best. I also believe in high standards and quality….I stand to say that I didn’t totally deliver that in this particular post and I’m sorry about that.

Thanks for always taking out time to go through the ffs2013’s Blog,  where it’s all about you.

.. communicating the mind of Christ.

Bless your darling heart.

Yours sincerely

Zachariah’s mum; How could you do this to me, don’t you want me to see my grandson before I die?

Zachariah replied; I have no such intention, I also desire to have kids too mama.

Zachariah’s mum; All these years, you say “we are waiting on God”, isn’t it high time you got a second wife?

Zachariah; Mama, you know that I love my wife Elizabeth-getting a second wife would really break her heart, plus mama God’s word don’t permit such.

Just trying to picture the recurrent conversions that Zachariah and his mum(although the bible didn’t mention her) might have had…

Childlessness can be a very devastating issue in marriage, and it has a track record of breaking homes. People expect that after a year or two, couples should have given birth to atleast a kid. But this wasn’t the case of Zachariah and his wife Elizabeth. After several years of been childless, it was obvious(humanly speaking) that they weren’t going to have any child, especially now that they were now old(Luke1:7).

What caught my attention about their story, wasn’t really their inability to conceive but “how this couple were able to live together till both were old”. Zachariah knew his wife was barren but that did’t prompt him to file for a divorce…I believe this couple knew and held on to something, something that the world is presently and obviously missing out.

What I discovered was quite amazing…a mutual decision to honour God in their marriage was what kept them together all those years despite varying challenges. The scripture says that “…together they lived honourably before God, careful in keeping to the ways of the commandments.. ” Luke1:6 AMP
This was the sustaining factor in their marriage; the key to a successful life long marriage.

We wouldn’t be able to have a life long relationship if we jump in and out simply because things aren’t going as planned, marriages have ended(some, after few weeks/months of the wedding ceremony) due to a lack of commitment to honour God, the romantic feeling of love suddenly disappears at the face of one challenge or the other and couples immediately file for a divorce.

Beloved, a decision to honour God in and with our relationships/marriages is what will sustain it when the emotions of love and romance seem to fade away…it will stand the test of trying times and help us stay married till death do us part

Am sorry, this blog is coming this late.Hope it was worth your time? Wishing you a successful life long marriage.

Thank you.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ” Ephesians1:3 NIV

Merely reading the above verse of scripture, leaves one with a feeling of enthusiasm-a joy beyond description.
Do you mean that God has blessed me with every blessings? Yes! That’s right
More accurately, these blessings are spiritual in form.

Really! But, come to think of it what’s the use of spiritual blessings in a physical world?
You wouldn’t go shopping and tell the cashier to debit your purchases from your “spiritual blessings” saving account. That will be a dumb thing to do.
Hence,  the ideal question should be…”how can i bring this spiritual &unseen blessings into materialization?”

It’s by your confession! God’s word in your mouth is as powerful as God’s word in His mouth.

Let’s learn from the Creator Himself:

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth but along the line, the earth became void & formless, & darkness was upon the face of the deep. Obviously, God saw the darkness but decided to speak forth light-calling the things that be not as though they were. Lo and behold, light appeared!.

Well, you might be say “that’s God, He has the power to call forth anything into existence”, but then you quickly forget that His Seed resides in you and that you are a  carrier of His presence, power and divine nature.

Divine health, success, prosperity, and every good(and godly) thing are included in the “spiritual blessings”. God has freely given us everything that pertains to life and godliness, our responsibility is to  bring His blessings into materialisation through faith.

“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak” 2Cor4:13KJV

It’s not enough for us to say that we have faith and be silent, we have got to release our faith through the confession of God’s word; speak the word irrespective of what you see in the physical, and watch your spiritual blessings come into physical materialisation.
