“The word salvation is the Greek word sozo, which means ‘deliverance, preservation, healing, soundness’. I believe the idea encompassed in it is total prosperity for spirit, soul and body.”  – Charles Capps   Our salvation is a complete package. It’ is God’s way of meeting all of man’s needs (both spiritual and physical) through faith in Jesus Christ. It isn’t just a getaway ticket to heaven, and that’s why you didn’t immediately disappear into heaven the very moment you said the salvation prayer. God isn’t just interested in your eternity, He is also concerned about your welfare and prosperity here on earth and that’s why He has (not will) blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ (see Ephesians1:3). His divine nature infused into us, has made us carriers of His blessing and power.   God wants us to enjoy life on earth and the scripture attests to this truth.   “… I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflow)” – John10:10 AMP   “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich” – 2 Corinthians 8:9   “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” – 2 Peter 1:3   “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.” – 1Peter 2:24 NIV   Poverty is not God’s idea of abundance; neither is sickness a gift from Him. Don’t ever let anyone talk you into believing such nonsense.   All these things have been freely given unto us in Christ Jesus, wrapped up in the Word and accessible by faith. Most importantly, God has given us His Spirit (the Spirit of wisdom and revelation) to help us live a victorious life; understanding and enjoying in full, the salvation we have received.   “We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given to us.” – 1 Corinthians 2:12 NIV
